Torq Terms of Service

Torq is operated by JVH, INC ("Torq", "we").

Draft template — have a lawyer review before launch. Last updated September 15, 2026.

1. What Torq is

Torq is a marketplace that connects vehicle owners ("Customers") with independent mobile mechanics and body shops ("Providers"). Torq does not perform repairs. Providers are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Torq.

2. Accounts

You must be 18+ and provide accurate information. You're responsible for activity on your account. Providers must complete verification and keep their tier information (license, certifications, business details, insurance) current and truthful.

3. Provider tiers

Torq displays a tier badge — Licensed, Certified, or Experienced — based on documents Providers submit. Torq reviews submissions in good faith but does not guarantee the quality of any Provider's work. Body shops are verified as businesses.

4. Pricing, estimates and payment

Estimates shown in the app are estimates. The price you pay is the accepted quote or estimate plus any additional work you explicitly approve in the app. Payment is collected through Stripe when the job is marked complete. Torq charges Providers a platform fee; tips go 100% to the Provider.

5. Cancellations

Customers may cancel free of charge until a Provider accepts. After acceptance, a cancellation fee may apply ($10 after acceptance, $25 once the Provider is en route, $40 after arrival) and is paid to the Provider. Providers who cancel accepted jobs may have their ranking reduced or account suspended.

6. Disputes and refunds

Report problems within 7 days through the app. Torq may, at its discretion, refund part or all of a payment. Chargebacks filed without first contacting Torq may result in account suspension.

7. Safety and conduct

No harassment, discrimination, unsafe work, or off-platform payment arrangements for jobs booked through Torq. Torq may suspend accounts that violate these rules.

8. Liability

Providers are responsible for their work, tools, and insurance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Torq's liability is limited to the amount paid for the job in question. Torq is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

9. Changes
